On 12 May, 2008 at 14:28, a great 8.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County of Sichuan with big intensity, wide coverage and serious damages. That unexpected disaster leads deep hurt and serious suffering to the people in disaster area. It affected all the Chinese people at the same time. After the earthquake, Wuliangye Group made responses immediately. It presented much care to earthquake resistance and disaster rescue, for example, establishing a leading group for rescue work, setting up the office for leading group from various departments, a rescue command center and working groups in severely-damaged areas. Besides, it made cooperation with Party Committee and Governments of all levels, carried forward the traditional virtue of ¡°One in trouble, all to help¡± and devoted to the rescue work with all Chinese people to contribute its effort for the reconstruction of disaster areas and to restore our beautiful homeland with the people in disaster area together.
Wuliangye coming to the front line, presenting its love with units
Wuliangye, as the most authorized and creditable representative of Chinese liquor brands, has been devoting itself to public welfare establishments with highly initiative as a Chinese national brand and has been still taking its social responsibility for first and returning to society as its mission. After knowing the disaster situation of Wenchuan Earthquake, the Group carried forward the traditional virtue of ¡°One in trouble, all to help¡± with heart to the people in disaster areas. It attached much importance to earthquake resistance and disaster rescue and provided assistance to the disaster victims to tide over the difficulty together with the people in disaster areas.

fter the disaster, Wuliangye Group sent out large quantities of passenger vehicles at earliest time possible to convey the rescue military officers and men organized by Yibin Military Subarea to the front line of disaster rescue; meanwhile, collected a large amount of donating materials such as tents, quilts, mattresses and medicines to the disaster areas to make great efforts to deliver warmth to the people in disaster areas as soon as possible.
The ruined in disaster areas, the raising loss number, the collapsed classrooms and the suffering faces¡­all these affected the people of Wuliangye. The Group decided to donate 10 millions Yuan more to provide assistance for reconstruction of middle schools and primary schools in disaster areas. At the same time, 873 employees of Wuliangye Group participated in the volunteers for blood donation; distributors of Wuliangye liquor also made active response to the call of the Group for donation. According to incomplete statistics, Wuliangye Group has donated 15.60 millions Yuan in money and goods and the distributors have donated 14.50 millions Yuan in cash. Up to the present, Wuliangye Group and its distributors have donated more than 30 millions Yuan in money and goods. The volunteer donation of the Group and employees is still in process.
